I have been trying to understand how members of the vaccine cult think. It has been a bit difficult, as trying to understand how they think is very much class-oriented.

The vaccine cultists are almost exclusively members of the upper middle class. They are professionals. Doctors. Lawyers. And especially, managers. There is something about them and their views that was exposed in a story I read about sexual assault. A woman who had been grabbed by a man was thinking, “This can’t happen to me. I live in a safe neighborhood.” This woman’s view of the world was that of living in a protective bubble where no predators exist.

So school shootings are not only horrific, they are a major clash with the UMC view of the world. And the reaction is predictably emotional and aimed at protecting the bubble. Take away the guns. De-claw the predators. Never mind the…
