By prolonging the war, even escalating it, the collective west is providing Russia the opportunity to eliminate the Ukrainian military and Ukrainian nazis while at the same time training the Russian military to wage large scale modern warfare.
Not to mention ~> Assist Russia (and China, India, Brazil, etc) in bringing down the US Empire and establishing a new multipolar world order.
Not to mention ~> Strengthening the Russian economy while simultaneously ruining the US and European economies.
Imagine the thankyou card from Putin to Lindsay Graham and the US Congress for promoting Ukraine’s sacrificial suicide on behalf of Russia’s security from US Govt / NATO aggression.
