Our defense budget is now $858B, $45B more than Biden even asked for. The F-35 fighter jet is a disaster but the program building it will continue and costs over $1.7T. Our defense economy is not about national security; it’s about corporate profits.

Under Trump, the Secretary of Defense was a 30 executive at Boeing. Under Biden, the Secretary of Defense is a former board member at Raytheon. They don’t even pretend anymore.

Looking to the system to disrupt itself is naive at this point. If the military-industrial-complex is going to lose its stranglehold on the country, it’s going to have be because the people ourselves step in and stop the madness.
