NATO Deputy Secretary General to Moldova: Our partnership helps make you safer, and makes us all more secure

Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană underlined NATO’s determination to continue supporting the Republic of Moldova in an address to the participants of the international conference focused on “Developing NATO Partnerships in a Changing Security Environment” taking place in Chișinău on Thursday (8 December 2022).

[T]he Deputy Secretary General spoke about NATO’s ongoing efforts to support Ukraine, protect allies and support partners under Russia’s pressure, including Moldova….

The Deputy Secretary General also highlighted that, at the NATO Ministerial meeting in Bucharest, Allies discussed NATO’s tailored support for Moldova, including additional support on capacity-building, reforms, and training…Moldova was represented at the meeting by Minister Nicu Popescu – the first time that a Foreign Minister of Moldova participated in a NATO ministerial.
