UT NOTE: When profitability is the driving force in science and technology, alternative explanations for disease are relegated to the huge pile of waste generated by the moneymakers. If, for instance, the FDA et al do not look first at the conditions of the fundamental requirements for life-sustaining human habitat — air, water, food, and lifestyle behaviors — then every supposed explanation becomes moot. In science parlance, the basic needs of a human are the primary “confounders” — variables that must be conrolled — that must be neutralized before “cause” can be established. The profit motive is one such confounder.
