As a kid, I spent a lot of time thinking about what I would do if the Nazis showed up and started demanding things. I guess that makes for a philosophically productive childhood but it’s true, I actually spent a lot of time thinking about the Nazis at a very tender age, thanks to being brought up on stories about heroic Soviet kids who didn’t betray their friends while tortured by the Nazis. So I take both history and the present seriously. And speaking of Nazis…
