“The EU and NATO have never worked as closely as they are today. And this is absolutely essential if we are to support Ukraine militarily, politically and economically,” [Swedish Defense Minister Paul] Jonson said.
Sweden will also continue to support Ukraine within the framework of its EU membership. Sweden intends to participate in the upcoming EU Military Assistance Mission in Support of Ukraine (EUMAM), which will train Ukrainian servicemen. Sweden also insists that the eight sanctions packages adopted to date are implemented and adhered to, and that the EU can agree on a ninth package of sanctions.
